About Us . . .
As a New York City exclusive buyer's broker, we help buyers purchase or rent prewar and
postwar luxury apartments -- cooperatives and condominiums -- and townhouses on the Upper
West Side and Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City. We also have special programs
for those relocating to the city from abroad, called the Settling-in from Abroad Program and
from out of town, called the Settlling-in Program. We also help investors make profitable
investments in New York residential real estate. In all transactions, we act as the Exclusive Buyer
Broker-- the first New York City residential real estate broker to do so.

Settling-in Programs, Exclusive Buyer Agent Program
If you are a buyer and you are represented by me or my firm, you enter the New York City
market with an extra edge. We are a boutique firm that specializes in representing buyers who
want to purchase homes anywhere in New York City, but especially on the Upper West Side and
Upper East Side, as well as handling relocations throughout New York City. We provide each
client all the information and comprehensive services he or she needs to make the transition to a
new home a smooth, happy and successful one. Often, this includes necessary services that are
not directly connected to a sale or purchase, such as my Settling-in Program and Settling-in
from Abroad Program to help newcomers to New York
In 2003, I introduced into the New York residential market the Exclusive Buyer Broker
Program, a program that offers New York home buyers the same benefits that sellers have had
for decades, but that was never available before in New York City for them. Please see
Exclusive Buyer Broker FAQs for more information.
Our services are custom, but our reach is universal. Our clients get the best of all worlds--you
do less work, see just the properties custom-fitted to your personal tastes, and are guided
smoothly and happily by a very experienced broker through the move to the city and the bidding,
contract, approval and closing process on your new home We will also get you into a luxury
rental, if you choose to rent. (See Rental Info.)
My Background
I dipped my toe in the real estate business in Manhattan in 1995, but permanently jumped in in
1997. From then until 2002, I was an agent, then a broker for two of the largest New York
firms. In 2002, I started my own firm, Stock Properties. Not long after that, I decided, by
personal preference and a perceived need in the marketplace, to become an exclusive buyer's
broker.
The broker license carries with it a much higher level of expertise, training and experience than
that of a real estate agent (almost all agents call themselves brokers colloquially, but actually,
there are 3,000 - 4,000 agents in Manhattan and only a few hundred brokers)--experience and
training that has been certified by the State of New York.
I came into real estate from a wide-ranging background in television news, the theater and
publishing. I have lived abroad in London and spent time in France and other countries in Europe
and the Americas. I have also handled relocations into New York since I've become a broker.
Thus, I certainly understand the perplexities of Settling-in from Abroad.
I have represented many purchasers -- and sellers in pre-2002 years -- of the great,
architecturally outstanding prewar homes for which the Upper West Side is known, including
Central Park West and Riverside Drive, as well as those in the exceptional, new condominiums
dotting the Upper West Side. But I have not neglected the Upper East Side, either. Here there is
exceptionally fine housing, along the avenues (Fifth and Park Avenues, Lexington and through to
East End Avenue on the East River) and side streets.
I have also studied at the New York Institute of Interior Design and spent years living in and
decorating American 18th and 19th century homes, as well as homes in New York post-1960
modern buildings, which gives me a deep architectural knowledge of and appreciation for the
beauty of the apartments in these buildings.
